Our Story

About ADS Mt Kenya

Registered in 1997 as a Company Limited by Guarantee, ADS-MK has been the development and relief arm of the Anglican Church of Kenya in the Mt. Kenya region for nearly three decades — empowering communities through sustainable development rooted in Christian values.

Who We Are

The Anglican Development Services — Mt. Kenya (ADS-MK) is the development and relief arm of the ACK Dioceses of:

  • Mt. Kenya South
  • Thika
  • Murang'a South
  • Mt. Kenya Central
  • Mt. Kenya West

Administrative Coverage: Kiambu, Murang'a, Nyeri, parts of Laikipia, Nairobi, Kajiado, and Meru Counties.

Registration: ADS-MK was registered in 1997 as a Company Limited by Guarantee with the mandate to steer social transformation in the Anglican Church.

Food and Nutrition Security & Resilience to Climate Change

We support households to increase their food and nutrition security and their resilience and adaptation to climate change in Mount Kenya Region.

  • aBuild the capacity of farmers on appropriate technologies to improve food production.
  • bBuild smallholder farmers' capacity on appropriate technologies to improve food storage and processing.
  • cPromote market linkages.
  • dPromote food and non-food tree planting through the "10% tree cover per household".
  • ePromote the adoption and use of Renewable Energy Technologies (RETs).
  • fStrengthen partnerships for food and nutrition security, climate adaptation and resilience.

Healthcare and Social Protection

We improve the survival and protection of children, enhance mental wellness as well as protect communities from infections and diseases in Mount Kenya region.

Enhancing Resilience, Self-Reliance and Livelihoods of Young People
