Food and Nutrition Security & Resilience to Climate Change
We support households to increase their food and nutrition security and their resilience and adaptation to climate change in Mount Kenya Region through improved farming technologies, food storage and processing, market linkages, tree planting, renewable energy, and strong partnerships.
Key Strategies
- aBuild farmer capacity on appropriate technologies for food production.
- bImprove food storage and processing for smallholder farmers.
- cPromote market linkages and the "10% tree cover per household" initiative.
- dPromote adoption of Renewable Energy Technologies (RETs).
Healthcare and Social Protection
We improve the survival and protection of children, enhance mental wellness, and protect communities from infections and diseases in Mount Kenya region through community health capacity building, SGBV reduction, NCD prevention, water access, and sanitation.
Key Strategies

- bIncrease awareness and support for mental wellness.
- cReduce SGBV, HIV infections and teenage pregnancies among youth.
- dEnhance water access and promote sanitation and hygiene.
Enhancing Resilience, Self-Reliance and Livelihoods of Young People
We enhance resilience, self-reliance and livelihoods of young people in Mount Kenya region by strengthening life skills, supporting agribusiness innovations, and promoting Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs).

Strengthen Institutional Capacity of ADS-MK
We strengthen our institutional capacity to enhance service delivery through board restructuring, HR revamping, diversified funding, enhanced visibility, and comprehensive MERL planning.

- bRevamp HR in line with the strategic plan.
- cDevelop a comprehensive MERL plan.
