Farmers’ Exchange Visit at Sagare Farm, Mweiga

Anglican Development Services (ADS) – Mt. Kenya Region organized a Farmers’ Exchange Visit to Sagare Farm in Mweiga, bringing farmers together for a practical learning experience focused on knowledge sharing, innovation, and sustainable agriculture. The visit provided an opportunity for farmers to connect, exchange experiences, and learn from one another through hands-on demonstrations and discussions. By observing successful farming practices firsthand, participants gained practical insights that can be applied within their own farms and communities. During the farm tour, participants explored a variety of sustainable agricultural solutions designed to improve productivity and resilience. A key highlight was the dairy farming session, where farmers learned about improved dairy management and value addition through products such as milk and yoghurt, creating opportunities for increased income. The exchange visit also showcased other innovative farming practices, including the use of renewable energy in agriculture, poultry farming, recycling initiatives, and effective post-harvest handling techniques. These approaches demonstrated how integrated farming systems can enhance productivity while promoting environmental sustainability.
