SCALING UP RENEWABLE ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES FOR AGRI FOOD VALUE CHAIN TRANSFORMATION (SRET)

The Scaling Up Renewable Energy Technologies (SRET) Project is a transformative initiative that promotes the adoption of clean and sustainable energy solutions across agri-food value chains in Kiambu County. The project focuses primarily on the dairy and horticulture sectors, helping smallholder farmers improve productivity, reduce production costs, and build climate resilience through renewable energy technologies. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and is implemented in partnership with Anglican Development Services (ADS) Kenya and ADS Mt. Kenya Region. SRET supports 3,000 smallholder farmers organized into 100 farmer producer groups across 15 wards in Githunguri, Limuru, and Kikuyu sub-counties. By promoting sustainable agricultural practices, strengthening partnerships, and improving access to finance and markets, the project contributes to enhanced food security, improved livelihoods, and environmental sustainability.
